Coffs Harbour man, 65, pleads not guilty to 12 child sex abuse offences

A Coffs Harbour man has been charged with raping a 15-year-old girl.

The 65-year-old has pleaded not guilty to a dozen charges.

It’s alleged the man committed the offences between June 1, 2016 and November 20, 2020, according to tendered court documents.

He cannot legally be named to protect the identity of the girl.

Police allege the man repeatedly sexually abused the teenager “knowing she was not consenting”.

Some of the alleged offences are considered domestic violence, court documents show.

The man, who appeared in Coffs Harbour District Court on January 30, has been charged with:

  • Three counts of aggravated indecency on a victim under 16 while under his authority.
  • Two counts of aggravated sex assault – victim under the age of 16 years (DV).
  • Three counts of aggravated indecency – victim under 16 and under authority offender (DV).
  • Two counts of aggravated sex assault – victim under authority of offender.
  • One count of sexual intercourse without consent (DV).
  • One count of aggravated sexually touch another person.

The accused man will face the court for a hearing on February 15.
