The man at the centre of an alleged $1.5 million fraud has appeared in court.
Anthony Patrick King faced Newcastle Local Court Tuesday, charged with nine counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception following a three-year investigation by Coffs/Clarence police.
Strike Force Reganza was established to investigate alleged fraudulent activity of a then 56-year-old man in January 2018.
Police allege Mr King, now aged 59, coerced three men to invest in fraudulent business ventures totalling $1,589,000 between February 2013 and December 2015 and that he allegedly used the money for personal use.
Mr King was arrested by detectives at a home on Mordue St, Jesmond on Monday.
He was refused bail and will face Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday May 24.
