Macauleys Beach played host to 80 young surfers on Sunday in the final round of the Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps.

Champions were crowned across all four age divisions.

Max Mcgillivray from Evans Head finished with a bang, taking top honours in the under-14 boys division. Mcgillivray remained sharp as a tack over the entirety of the event, winning every heat with totals in excess of 13.00.

Runner-up and local favourite Will Martin from Coffs Harbour put on a valiant performance in the final, but was unable to take the win away from Mcgillivray.

Ruby Trew from Manly continued to build the momentum that’s won her multiple events over the years as she took out the under-14 girls.

Local surfers to do well were Luca Martin from Coffs Harbour and Rio Luther Barr from Bundagen who came second and fourth respectively in the under 12 boys.

Jarrah White from Moonee Beach and Phoenix Talbot from Yamba came second and fourth respectively in the under 10 boys.

Jazz Kennedy from Mullaway came fourth in the under 10 girls and Jet Dean from Coffs Harbour third in the under 8 mixed.
