It was a symphony for the senses as the first Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival peaked with a grand finale at Jetty Beach House.
The big weekend featured live music from a raised stage, street food trucks, gourmet offerings and a perfect vibe as the sun belted down on a seaside canvas.
The ticketed affair to the two-day Summer Sesh saw the punters come in their hundreds on the Saturday for a line-up including the Australian Rock Collective (a supergroup featuring members from Powderfinger, Spiderbait, Jet and You Am I).
Sunday saw a more chilled audience, with those on the gate reckoning some had partied too hard the previous night for kick-ons.
Roxy Herson moved to Coffs Harbour from Sydney 12 months’ back and was among the throng lapping up the beats on the final day.
“In Sydney this would cost you hundreds,” Ms Herson said.
“I just wish more people had known about it. The Australian Rock Collective yesterday was amazing.”
The festival was originally touted to run in June, but the lingering wet weather saw it smartly repositioned to summer’s doorstep.
“The objective is to promote the restaurants, produce and producers from the region,” Jetty Beach House owner Dave Mansfield said.
Supported by a NSW government grant, the festival served up dining experiences and foodie workshops.
Aside from a licence to party, the weekend’s event carried some social messaging.
Kathleen Hannah from OzGreen was among a small team on the hustings.
“We’re here to raise awareness about the changes to the single-use plastic legislation and to reduce the waste generally at music festivals,” she said.
Mr Mansfield said organisers hoped to make the food and wine festival an annual event.
