Key roles announced to progress Cultural and Civic Space

The leadership roles are being advertised via a recruitment agency but not listed on Council’s website. They will help with the transition to Gordon Street.

Two key leadership roles to help progress the Cultural and Civic Space have been advertised but not on Coffs Harbour City Council’s website.

The positions are currently listed with recruitment agency Chandler Macleod with applications for both positions closing at 11pm on June 27.

The successful applicants will play a key role in Council’s transition into the $81m Cultural and Civic Space (CCS) on Gordon Street.

Construction is underway on the controversial project which will house a new library, art gallery and council offices. The building is due to be finished by the end of 2022.

The two positions being advertised are: Team Leader Cultural Services and Service Leader-libraries.

Starting salary for the team leader position is $103k per annum with the position description stating: we are seeking a leader to take the cultural services team into the future including their transition into the new Cultural and Civic Space in the heart of the Coffs Harbour city centre.

The advertisement goes on to say: the exciting new building will include a central library over three floors with dedicated spaces for children and youth, regional gallery, museum, interactive arts workshop, makerspace and digital creative studio.

Relevant tertiary qualifications include a degree or postgraduate qualification in one or more of the following: business, marketing, fine/visual arts, library science, museum studies, tourism or a related field as well as relevant experience.

Also being advertised is Service Leader-libraries with a starting salary of around $96k per annum.

The position will co-ordinate library services, including library collections and outreach and lead the libraries team in providing comprehensive, innovative library services, resources and initiatives.

The ideal candidate would have a degree or postgraduate qualification in library and information services as well as experience in managing library services.
