An arrest warrant has been issued for a female strata worker who failed to show up in Coffs Harbour Local Court after being granted bail.

Hannah Catherine Braddick, 35, appeared in handcuffs in the dock at Coffs Harbour Local Court on May 20 charged with breaching an apprehended violence order and high range drink driving without a licence – cancelled due to fine defaults – it was heard.

She had been working full-time with a local strata company since February, her lawyer told the court.

Her lawyer urged Magistrate Theresa Hamilton to grant Braddick bail saying she had never been in custody before and would be “extremely vulnerable” if remanded behind bars as her case progressed.

He told the court Braddick had relapsed into alcohol misuse due to a recent personal tragedy.

Hannah Catherine Braddick was working with a Coffs Harbour strata firm at the time of her arrest last month.

Ms Hamilton granted her bail and adjourned the matter to May 28 but Braddick did not show up on that date.

The police prosecutor told the court Braddick had breached the conditions of her bail due to “alcohol use in the presence of police”.

Ms Hamilton found the bail breach was established.

She continued bail but issued a bench warrant for her arrest.

A bench warrant is a court order authorising the arrest of somebody who has failed to appear in court when required.

Braddick’s case has been adjourned to July 16.
