The Big Banana theme park at Coffs Harbour will tap into the worldwide craze for escape rooms with four tricky scenarios under construction.
Escape rooms involve teams of players locked in an immersive experience where they must work together to solve a series of puzzles, clues and scenarios to achieve the final goal – leaving the room.
Big Banana Fun Park chief executive officer Michael Lockman said: “We are aware of the need to refresh and expand our offering, to grow new visitation and revisitation numbers to both The Big Banana and to the Coffs Coast in general”
The escape rooms will challenge in different ways, each with its own concept:
– Escaping from a high security prison in Prison Break.
– Navigating the Temple of Doom.
– A magical journey through the School of Wizards.
– Testing your survival skills to get out of an abandoned hostel.
The rooms located in the southern end of the existing laser tag building are due to open later this year.
Meanwhile, the theme park will add 15 new amusement machines to its Fun Zone offering, plus a mini tenpin experience through the construction of two Duckpin Bowling lanes.
Supplied and installed by QubicaAMF, Fly’n Ducks is played with a smaller ball than tenpin, while the bowling pins are “duckpins”. The mini tenpin format is aimed at players of all abilities.
“We are excited to add these popular world class attractions to our fun park, which are all expected to be open in late 2023,” Mr Lockman said.
