Edinburgh Street, Coffs Harbour home badly damaged after fire took hold in roof

A raging Coffs Coast house fire took about two hours to extinguish and now investigations continue into how the blaze began. Here’s what we know.

A raging Coffs Coast house fire took about two hours to extinguish and now investigations continue into how the fire began.

Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters were called to the property on Edinburgh Street, Coffs Harbour about 9.40pm on Wednesday July 17th.

It took about 20 firefighters equipped with six trucks to tackle the blaze.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.

The fire began in the ceiling of the property and “severely damaged” two floors and a basement.

“There is no information on how the fire ignited,” a Fire and Rescue spokesperson said.

“There were no injuries as the property was unoccupied.”
