From tribute shows to food markets – there’s something for everyone.
1. Abba and The Bee Gees – A Night to Remember
What: A Night to Remember is a 2-hour extravaganza featuring the greatest hits of Abba and The Gees. Abba Re-Bjorn and The Ultimate Bee Gees Tribute Show brings to life these two iconic bands live on stage.
Featuring an international cast, this event showcases some of the greatest songs ever written including ‘Staying Alive’, ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Fernando’ and much more. Tickets available here.
Where: Coffs Harbour Racing Club.
When: Saturday, March 27. Gates open at 6pm, show begins at 8pm.
2. Street Eats Food Market
What: Epic street food and cold beer and wine are making a return to the foreshores this weekend, after the Street Eats Food Market was rained out last month. Enjoy food and desserts from around the world, with everything from pizza, doughnuts, bubble tea and more on offer.
SSS Entertainment will also be holding a silent disco on the night.
Where: Jetty foreshores.
When: Saturday, March 27 from 4pm. Silent disco from 7pm-9pm.
3. Creative arts Open Day
What: Interested in art? Want to learn art techniques or brush up on your skills? The Coffs Harbour Creative Arts Group is holding its open day this weekend where you can talk to the artists, tutors and students, see the works on display and enrol in classes for Term 2.
Where: Coffs Harbour Showground Gallery.
When: Sunday, March 28 from 10am-1pm.
4. Coramba Village Market
What: Join the community of Coramba for their monthly village market. There’ll be plenty of locally grown and made food from the Orara Valley on offer - fill your basket with treats from a range of stallholders including Orara Valley Produce, Chai Stall, The Sandy Pantry and more.
With activities, live music and more, the market offers fun for the whole family.
Where: Next to the Coramba RFS station on Coramba Rd.
When: Sunday, March 28 from 10am-2pm.
5. Easter Thursday with the Benny Black duo
What: Former Melbourne-based singer/songwriter and musician Benny Black blends elements of indie, alt-folk and pop and his influences (including Vance Joy, Matt Corby, Rufus and Flume) into his music to create a unique sound.
Black, who has shared the stage with Triple J Hottest 100 and Splendour in the Grass acts British India, Kingswood, Birds of Tokyo and Illy, will take the stage in Coffs this Easter Thursday.
Where: Hoey Moey.
When: Thursday, April 1 from 6pm.
6. Coffs Coast Growers Market
What: The weekly Coffs Coast Growers Market offers locals fresh produce and artisan goodies from plenty of local businesses such as Coffs Coast Honey, Raw Food Hub, My Twin Loaves, Bellingen Soap Cakes and more.
Where: City Square.
When: Thursday, April 1 from 8am-2.30pm.
7. Village Farmers Market
What: This weekly market in Woolgoolga offers a local ‘farm to plate’ experience, with several stalls to browse from offering fresh produce, home baked goods, bread, eggs, pasta, fresh flowers, jam, honey and more.
Where: Queen St, Woolgoolga.
When: Friday, April 2 from 7am-11.30am.
8. Behind the Lines Exhibition
What: Featuring 104 cartoon from 36 cartoonists, annual favourite Behind the Lines has made a return to the Bunker gallery. The travelling exhibition, curated by the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, celebrates the role of political cartoonists in Australia and the power their drawings have in contributing to our daily political and social discourse.
Where: National Cartoon Gallery.
When: Open seven days a week from 10am-4pm. Runs until April 12.
9. Jagun Yamarr exhibition
What: The Gumbaynggirr people have deep connections to the ocean and waterways. They’re sharing some of this language, knowledge and culture in new exhibition Jagun Yamarr. See mixed media artwork of local fish, with Gumbaynggirr names alongside scientific ones, presented by the Aboriginal community.
Where: Culture Hub on Level 1 of Coffs Central.
When: Open Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10am-4pm. Runs until April 17.
10. Cleverman exhibition
What: The Cleverman Exhibition celebrates the groundbreaking and critically acclaimed indigenous superhero series. Exploring First Nations storytelling, language and creativity in production design, costumes and props, this free exhibition invites audiences to listen-first and immerse themselves in a powerful contemporary expression Origin Stories.
Where: Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
When: Open Tuesdays-Friday from 9am-4pm and weekends from 9am-2pm. Runs until April 11.
