From live concerts, to major sporting events and even Simpsons-themed trivia – there’s plenty of great events taking place on the Coffs Coast over the next week.

Here’s your weekly go-to guide.

1. Robertson Brothers 60s Variety TV Show

What: Do you dream of reliving the good old days? After a massive 2019, the Robertson Brothers are back with a brand new show! Take a trip down memory lane with this amazing interactive live TV Variety Show featuring the hits from The Seekers, Bee Gees, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Neil Sedaka and The Everly Brothers.

With a rockin’ live band and an amazing multimedia presentation, expect to be entertained by many of the Classic Hits from the ‘60s.

When: Two shows on Saturday, May 15 at 3pm and 8pm.

2. Bellingen Community Markets

What: This monthly market showcases more than 260 diverse and colourful stalls from local artisans, creators, producers, growers and recyclers, alternative therapies, massage and scrumptious food. Tantalise your tastebuds with a smorgasbord of delicious multicultural hot and cold delights.

Live music plays all day with spontaneous performances and buskers throughout the park. Kids will love the jumping castle, pony rides, swings, face-painting and bargain hunting.

Where: Bellingen Park.

When: Saturday, May 15 from 8am-2.30pm.

3. 2021 Senior State OzTag Championships

What: The Australian Oztag Sports Association hosts the largest NSW Senior tournament, the Senior State Championships annually.

Senior teams from Associations across the state have descended to the Coffs Coast to compete against each other over the three day tournament in order to be crowned NSW State Champion.

Where: C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

When: Runs from Friday, May 14 – Sunday, May 16 from 8.30am-6pm daily.

4. Nicky Bomba ‘Malibu’ tour

What: Enigmatic performer, producer and life long troubadour Nicky Bomba has returned to the scene with his first solo release in 10 years. His reputation as a world-class performer has seen him grace stages from Istanbul to Tokyo and garnered him a weighty trove of accolades including four ARIA awards.

Whether at the helm of the titanic Melbourne Ska Orchestra or slamming skins on the kit with John Butler, Nicky’s magnetic connection with the audience is a testament to his spectacular creativity.

Where: Hoey Moey. Free show.

When: Sunday, May 16 at 3pm.

5. The Simpsons Trivia

What: Everything’s coming up Milhouse at this one-off Simpsons themed trivia night! Book a table with family or friends and get ready to show off just how big a Simpsons fan you really are at this free, family-friendly event.

Where: Sawtell Hotel. Book your table by contacting the hotel direct.

When: Sunday, May 16. Registration from 6pm, game commences at 6.30pm.

6. CHMCC’s ‘Into The Woods’

What: James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim’s fantastic musical weaves together fairy-tale figures such as Cinderella, Jack (of the beanstalk), Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf, Rapunzel and the witch, and more than one handsome Prince, but not as you’ve seen them before.

What begins as a lively irreverent fantasy becomes a cautionary tale about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children.

Where: Jetty Memorial Theatre.

7. Printmakers Exhibition: ‘Unframed’

What: See the exciting new exhibition from the Coffs Coast Printmakers, dubbed ‘Unframed’, featuring drypoint (etching) linoprints, collagraphs, solar plate etching and more.

The printmakers are an impressively talented bunch – you’ll be amazed at the quality and variety of their art. All artworks are for sale.

Where: Coffs Harbour Showground Gallery.

When: Mondays-Saturday from 10am-2pm. Runs until June 9.

8. Sikh Museum Takeover: From Early Settlers to Bridal Glamour

What: The Sikh Heritage Museum of Australia is sharing artefacts, interactive displays, and insights into how the storylines of local Indian weddings have shifted over time.

Visitors might feel like they’ve stepped into a Bollywood scene, with colourful draping and a couple’s wedding seat to take selfies. Photographs of local marriage stories and cultural marriage practices are on show, including personal stories of how couples met, and a ‘then’ and ‘now’ photo essay.

Where: Culture Hub on Level 1 of Coffs Central.

When: Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10am-4pm. Runs until May 29.

9. National Road Safety Week Coffs Harbour

What: Did you know that the Coffs Harbour electorate had 17 fatalities and 317 people seriously injured from 2015-2019 on our roads? 70% were local people Speeding was a factor in 53% of fatalities and 35% of serious injuries.

The community is invited to the Botanic Garden during the week to reflect upon lives changed or lost on our roads. While there, write the name of someone special on a ribbon or sunflower to plant in among the swathe of yellow flowers or wear a free yellow lapel ribbon. The ribbons and sunflowers have been made by the Coffs Harbour Men’s Shed.

Where: North Coast Regional Botanic Garden.

When: Sunday, May 16 – Sunday, May 23 from 9am-5pm.

10. Sandwich-bag Dad – Exhibition

What: This dad’s morning ritual of drawing on his 3 daughters’ lunch-bags has been the highlight of the school day for teachers and students at his local school for 8 years (and counting).

Recently, via Instagram, this quirky tradition has also been found to be entertaining thousands of families across the world and now form the foundation of this fun, pun-filled exhibition from Dave Blumenthal – aka The Sandwich-bag dad.

Where: National Cartoon Gallery.

When: Daily from 10am-4pm. Runs until June 13.
