BILL Buckless says it is time that Northern Beaches residents made a move to provide more facilities for seniors.

To this end, Mr Buckless, who has succeeded the late Graham Hanley as president of the Northern Beaches Residents Association, is calling for locals to attend a public meeting on the matter on Tuesday night.

Hosted by the Northern Beaches Residents’ Association, Tuesday’s meeting will be held at 7pm at the Woolgoolga RSL Club in Beach St, Woolgoolga.

“We get regular complaints from residents with frail aged relatives in distant nursing homes,” Mr Buckless said.

“With an aging population and Woolgoolga retirement village full to capacity most of the time, the situ- ation can only get worse.

“We have been fortunate enough to obtain the services of Carolyn Kwok to be our main guest speaker on Tuesday, plus two other speakers.

“Carolyn is deputy chief executive of RSL LifeCare Narrabeen North Sydney, who operate aged care facilities Australia wide.

“She is fully qualified to give a presentation and answer questions regarding information on funding and approval opportunities and requirements, financial viability, economics, regulatory issues, opportunities and obstacles.”

Also speaking at the meeting will be RSL LifeCare financial controller Mark Broadhead and local community care manager for RSL LifeCare Brenda Bale.
