A Coffs Coast man has faced court more than two years after allegedly murdering a toddler.
At about 8am on Monday, May 23 2022, emergency services were called to an address in Coffs Harbour after reports a two-year-old boy was found unresponsive inside the home.
The child was taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus in a critical condition, before being flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. He died the following day.
Coffs/Clarence Police District subsequently launched Strike Force Kielwarra, investigating the circumstances of the young boy’s death.
About 10.15am on Tuesday, Aaron McLeod, 38, was arrested by detectives at Bankstown Police Station.
McLeod was charged with murder and appeared in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday, where he was formally refused bail.
He is expected to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday, November 6.
