Christmas Day weather forecast 2020: Sydney in for cool, cloudy days

Sydneysiders will have to battle through nine days of showers and a possible storm before the clouds part, but it will be worth it when the sun comes out on Christmas Day.
For those spending Christmas in Sydney, the city is forecast to enjoy a slightly cloudy day with a maximum of 25C.
Frantic Boxing Day sale shoppers will also be relieved that the weather will stay largely the same, as the cool and grey conditions will be welcoming for shoppers and movie goers across the state.
Luckily partygoers will be able to welcome the New Year with warmer weather as temperatures reach 28C in the city and 30C in the west.
This time last year, the country woke to one of the bleakest Christmases in years and hundreds of homes were destroyed by bushfires sending holiday-makers’ travel plans into chaos.
But according to the Bureau of Meteorology, December to February is set to be wetter than average for much of Australia, except west coast Tasmania.
