SHE’S one of the most recognisable faces in China with a string of hit films and dozens of TV credits to her name, but Xuan Dong has given it all up to support her actor husband as he defends sexual assault charges in Sydney.

Xuan relocated to Australia after her husband was charged and leases a $6000-a-month apartment in Chatswood with her young daughter and mother-in-law.
The Beijing-born movie star broke into the public eye in 2003 after securing a role in the martial arts drama “Snowflower”, and according to Chinese media, is a much bigger name than Gao, who was referred to in court as “China’s Hugh Jackman”.
The 35-year-old most recently starred in the 2015 film “Wild Desert”, but has appeared in nine films over the span of her career including “Breaking the Waves”, “The Founding of a Republic” and “The Spring Comes”, in which she was nominated for a Golden Rooster Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She is also well known for her work on countless television drama series, notably “Unbeatable”, “Puberty Run into Menopause” and “The Young Lawyer”.
Xuan was named in a list of top Chinese actresses in 2015 and keeps company with a host of other Chinese stars, including Jia Nailiang and Li Xiaolu, who attended Xuan and Gao’s wedding in 2011.
The couple welcomed their first child in June 2016 — a daughter they have nicknamed “Little Dimple”, and celebrated her first birthday with an extravagant party attended by their famous actor friends.
Xuan’s popularity in China is shown on her Weibo page — a Chinese social media site, where she regularly interacts with her more than 13 million fans.
The actor said she intends to stay in Australia until the “horrible” allegations against her husband have been dealt with and recently posted a statement on Weibo saying she “believed him”.
