ALLEGED drink driver business executive Matthew Duncan could barely walk let long drive as CCTV footage showed him stumbling, pirouetting and falling over in a CBD street moments after getting out of his BMW in front his Woolloomooloo home.
The 39-year-old former CEO of luxury car retailer Trivett Automotive Group was charged with high range drink driving after allegedly blowing more than six times the limit at 7.20pm on Sunday.
Kings Cross Police were called to Bland St following reports the banged up BMW had stopped in the middle of the road.
Duncan denied he was the driver of the vehicle and refused a roadside breath test.
But CCTV shows a man stumble out the driver’s side door, grab the door to avoid falling, before lurching backwards, flailing his arms in the air.
He eventually manages to walk forward but spins and hits the ground on his backside.
Duncan was arrested and allegedly blew 0.342 at Kings Cross Police Station.
He was charged, his licence was suspended and he was granted police bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on December 13.
His bail conditions state he must not to occupy the driver’s seat of any motor vehicle and not consume alcohol or drugs unless prescribed by a doctor.
Channel 9 reported Duncan had his licence suspended for three years in 2013 after recording a blood-alcohol level of 0.267 and being charged with high range drink driving. He only was allowed back on the roads this year.
Duncan stepped down from his position as CEO of Trivett, which sells exclusive brands such as Rolls Royce, McLaren, Bentley and Aston Martin, in February 2013 for $116 million.
Duncan then became the director of investment firm JWT Bespoke
He is director of the company with his father Gregory James Duncan who was the executive chairman of Trivett Automotive Group.
