CONFRONTING CCTV footage has emerged of a hit-and-run car crash in Sydney’s south-west that left a mother-of-two dead.
Gina Abdallah, 38, was in the passenger seat of a Mitsubishi Evo travelling through Punchbowl in August last year when she was critically injured in a crash.
Police say the Mitsubishi collided with a Honda CRV on Warwick St just before 11am on August 7.
CCTV released on Saturday captured the white Mitsubishi careering sideways down the street before it crashed at speed into the oncoming car.
The driver of the Mitsubishi fled the scene, leaving Ms Abdallah to die in the wreckage.
Investigators say they are yet to identify the male who was behind the wheel.
Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit Detective Inspector Katie Orr said investigators would not quit until the investigation was completed.
“The driver involved in this crash left his passenger at a crash scene to die,” she said.
“We will continue to investigate this incident until the person responsible for this matter is caught.
“It is important to remember that any piece of information, no matter how small you may think it is, could assist our investigation.”
It was reported at the time the Mitsubishi had stolen number plates.
The 45-year-old driver of the Honda received minor injuries.
