The $8 million Cremorne mansion that was once the dream home of Karl Stefanovic and Cassandra Thorburn is being prepped to go on the market, with real estate agents seen inspecting the waterfront home last week.
North shore agents have been keen to get their hands on the prized property since the couple’s 2016 split, a breakup that occurred just months after the couple bought the old home formerly on the site.
After laying down an $800,000 deposit on the fixer-upper on a 650sqm Harbourfront plot, the pair had to commit to the purchase or lose their deposit.
An 18-month rebuild by developer Tony Blanche transformed the home into a lavish five-bedroom, two-kitchen, four-bathroom entertainer with swimming pool, steam room and wine cellar.
Thorburn and the couple’s three kids finally moved in in 2017, by which time Stefanovic was ensconced in a nearby home with his second-wife-to-be Jasmine Yarbrough.
It is understood the warring couple will split the profit.
Thorburn, on holiday with the couple’s children, was unavailable for comment.
