Former Hillsong pastor Laura Lentz was all smiles during her family’s Thanksgiving celebration as the fallout from her cheating husband continues.
The Australian-born mother of three was snapped by her 16-year-old daughter Ava who posted a photo of her mother on social media.
The family-of-five moved cross country, from New York to Los Angeles, after Carl Lentz was sacked from the megachurch for having an affair with a fashion designer.
Carl and Laura are parents to three children Charlie, 14-year-old Ava and Roman, 11.
Sydney-born Laura has kept a low profile since revelations of the affair but her daughter could not resist sharing a photo to her 35k Instagram followers.
“Happy Thanksgiving!!,” she captioned the image of her mother.
The celebrations come as the family bunker down in a million dollar Los Angeles “away from the temptation”.
The Daily Telegraph revealed that Carl Lentz and his family are lying low in Los Angeles - renting an exclusive Manhattan Beach pad for an eye-watering $US16,000 a month.
The disgraced preacher and his Australian-born wife Laura, 40, have quit the city for the beach where they are undergoing intense therapy to heal the rift in their broken 17-year marriage after he admitted to a torrid five-month affair with New York fashion designer Ranin Karim.
The $5m, five-bathroom and five-bedroom property boasts expansive views, a private office, generously-lit marble island kitchen, open family room and extravagant owner’s suite equipped with a four poster bed, granite stone bathroom and large walk-in wardrobe.
“He told me when we split, ‘it’s me, I now need to do a lot of work on myself … I made vows, I have to fix what I’ve done … I have to do the right thing by sticking to our commitment,’” Ms Karim told The Daily Telegraph.
Ms Karim is sorry for the hurt she caused the family but says she never intended to get involved with a married man.
His wife Laura, 40, is said to be deeply wounded after discovering text messages on his phone and computer and has asked her parents Kevin and Marilyn Brett, former Hillsong pastors, to pray for them from their home in Blaxland in NSW.
“I know his wife and would hate to be in her situation;, we should think twice about sharing these types of things (articles about Lentz), it isn‘t helping,” Laura’s friend Abby Mills wrote on Facebook.
Ms Karim and Lentz met in Domino Park in Brooklyn, New York, where he chatted her up while she was walking her dog. They broke up two weeks ago.
“He said the sex we had was the best he’s ever had in his life and he couldn’t stop being with me.”
She told how Lentz would visit her apartment three times a week with Tequila in his backpack so people wouldn’t see him with drink in the street. “He did risky things you don’t expect a pastor to do,” she said.
