CANTERBURY star Adam Elliott has faced a Sydney court this morning after he was charged for his alleged behaviour during the Bulldogs Mad Monday celebration.
The 23-year-old forward was charged with wilful and obscene exposure after players were photographed partying naked at the Harbour View Hotel at The Rocks.
Elliott briefly appeared in Downing Centre Local Court with the support of his girlfriend.
The matter was heard at the same time as his teammate Asipeli Fine, 25, who was also charged with wilful and obscene exposure following the bender on September 6.
Fine is overseas and was represented in court by his lawyer.
The pair’s lawyers both asked for an adjournment until next month, when they will enter pleas of guilty or not guilty.
Defence lawyer Joshua Jones, who was representing Fine, said the defence team was still sifting through material.
“We’re seeking an adjournment — my client is overseas and I understand there is (additional) … material to get through,” he said.
A registrar granted the adjournment and the matter will return to court on November 21.
Elliot was met with a big media pack outside court but declined to comment when asked if he was embarrassed about his alleged actions.
Elliott’s lawyer told reporters outside court they will “have to wait” until the next hearing to find out if his client would plead guilty.
The Mad Monday celebrations plunged the NRL into a public relations disaster and saw the Bulldogs and players hit with hefty fines from the sporting authority.
