Ottway the Label is a sustainable brand and has just arrived at Byron Bay

Watch out Byron Bay retailers, a sustainable business has just opened up in town.

Watch out Byron Bay retailers, there’s a new store in town that runs on 100% renewable power and is completely carbon neutral.

Ottway the Label is only four-and-a-half years old, and after being launched in Melbourne, the brand has just “achieved the dream” and opened up a store on Lawson St, Byron Bay.

To celebrate, Ottway’s open day will be on September 3 where there will be drinks and local musicians – that are yet to be announced.

Ottway’s co-manager, Manuel Lopez-Velez, petted his well-behaved toy cavoodle, Suny, as he said his crew had always dreamt of opening a store in Byron Bay because the brand will thrive at this location.

“We think our clothing fits well with the Byron community and for the travellers coming into town,” he told the Byron Shire news.

Ottway has a sustainability program in true Byron Bay spirit and currently with every purchase, they contribute to solar power projects all around Australia.

They were a main contributor in the installation of 35 solar panels for the community space in Coorabell Hall.

Mr Lopez-Velez encourages people in Byron who are passionate about the health of the planet to come say hello.

“We work hard to create high standards,” he said.
