A proposal to demolish an Ocean Shores home and replace it with eight new townhouses has been placed on public exhibition.
The development application has sought approval for $2.024 million worth of works at 12 and 14 Yalla Kool Drive.
A separate DA for a boundary adjustment between those two lots, lodged in March, is also before Byron Shire Council.
The townhouse proposal was lodged with the council on June 2 and is on public on exhibition until Wednesday, June 30.
According to a document lodged with the DA and prepared on behalf of the applicants, each proposed townhouse would each involve two storeys “with ground-level parking and living areas and first floor bedrooms and amenities”.
If approved, there would be two and three-bedroom townhouses within the development.
The site falls under low density residential zoning.
Based on the DA, each townhouse would have one or two carparking spaces and the development would be “an easy walk or cycle to Ocean Shores Local Shopping Centre and associated community services”
Seven trees would be removed under the proposed plans.
