THE “jilted” ex-girlfriend of league star Bryce Cartwright has been charged after threatening to kill him in a heated video posted on Facebook.
Brittany Hura, 24, was arrested at her Constitution Hill this afternoon and taken to Parramatta Police Station where she was charged with “carriage service to menace/harass or offend and stalk/intimidation with the intent to fear physical harm”.
The Daily Telegraph understands police launched an investigation into the Facebook video after Cartwright and Penrith Panthers boss Phil Gould made a formal complaint last night.
“The Constitution Hill woman was conditionally bailed to appear at Penrith Local Court on 20 December 2016,” a police spokesman said.
“Police take all reports of intimidation and harassment seriously and encourage any person who believes they are being targeted to come forward and make a report so it can be investigated.”
Panthers Group CEO Brian Fletcher said Cartwright’s “safety and wellbeing” was his only priority at this stage.
“The club has been monitoring the behaviour of Bryce Cartwright’s ex-girlfriend for some time,” Mr Fletcher said.
“The situation escalated over the weekend with serious threats being directed towards Bryce and those close to him via social media platforms.
“As a result, this is now a NSW Police matter. We are most appreciative of the swift response by NSW Police to this situation.
“The priority of Panthers is to ensure the protection, safety and wellbeing of Bryce, his partner and his family. We are affording Bryce all the support we can during this difficult time.
“The club will be making no further comment until NSW Police have concluded their investigations.”
Hura’s arrest comes after The Daily Telegraph revealed the woman had threatened to kill Cartwright in a heated video posted on social media.
“You think I’m laughing because I’m mentally f...ed up?,” she said in the video posted under the name Brinneyy Hura on the weekend.
“I’m not mentally f...ed up I’m just laughing at you ... you’re going to be dead soon.
“In the grave ... six feet under ... you don’t even know what’s coming at you.
“Don’t worry about me I’ll be somewhere ... on CCTV.
“You can’t even pleasure a girl ... all you have to do is throw money at them. Bro you’re gone ... chick chick pew.”
The pair dated for at least six years before the relationship allegedly ended in acrimony over another woman.
The affair is believed to have devastated Hura, who has spent the last few weeks sharing intimate — and explicit — moments of Cartwright to the world.
The buxom brunette even added “RIP” to the end of a tattoo on her back of Cartwright’s name.
The photo was uploaded on earlier this month alongside an emotional post about how their relationship had deteriorated.
“R. I. P Bryce Cartwright,” she said.
“when i got it in 2011 it was to prove my love to you as you were insecure about our relationship.....i don’t regret getting it because at the time it was what i wanted...but now.....your fcuken (sic) dead to me mate.”
In November, Hura posted a lengthy explanation about the breakup saying she was taking a stand for “all females”. “You can call me a slag, crazy, psycho, liar or bitch ... but is that honestly fair?” she wrote.
“It’s not just about me ... it’s about all females. Men should not be allowed to get away with this.’’
The comments were night and day to happier times where Hura spoke affectionately about her man.
“Hes (sic) sacrificed so much to be a role model to young children and dedicated all his hard work to league,” she posted in September last year.
“I’m so grateful to watch you grow.”
