THE first rule of fight club is: You do not talk about fight club.

Like something out of a movie, the NSW Crime Commission has been investigating a Sydney fight club allegedly linked to the murder of racing industry worker Bradley Dillon.

Tony Carbone, whose brother Diego, 23, was charged with Mr Dillon’s murder, has refused to tell the commission anything about the St Michael’s Fight Club, court documents reveal.

Former world champion boxer Jeff Fenech has also been questioned by the crime commission about the club and about Mr Dillon’s murder.

The Daily Telegraph has learned the so-called secret club was formed by a group of boxers who trained together at a Marrickville gym which was also used by Fenech.

The boxers are former Catholic schoolboys who named themselves after the Archangel St Michael who fought demons, a source said.

“I am aware they trained at the gym but I don't know anything about them,” Fenech said yesterday.

Fenech has said he knows nothing about the murder of Mr Dillon. The 25-year-old father of two from Abbotsford, was gunned down in Lords Rd near the Leichardt Marketplace shopping centre on August 11, 2014.

Homicide detectives with Strike Force Ester arrested Diego Carbone on August 28 at Sydney Airport as he was about to board a plane to Thailand and charged him with Mr Dillon’s murder.

On Wednesday, Tony Carbone, 32, of Gymea, appeared in Downing Centre Local Court charged with lying to the crime commission.

The court documents state he refused to answer questions about St Michael’s Fight Club. He had been called before the commission nine days before his brother was arrested.

In December, he was charged with knowingly give false or misleading evidence at a commission hearing.

The charge states that “between 3.30pm and 5pm on August 19, 2014, (he) gave misleading evidence in relation to his knowledge and association with St Michael’s Fight Club.”

He did not enter a plea and will reappear next month.

Fenech is due to appear before Newtown Local Court in February charged with intimidating a law enforcement officer and disrupting a commission hearing after his appearance before the commission recently.

Police believe Antonio Bagnato, 26, arrested in Cambodia last month over the alleged murder of Hells Angel Wayne Schneider in Thailand in November is a suspect in Mr Dillon’s murder
