A teenager has received bail on a string of charges after riding his motorcycle onto the platform of a Western Sydney train station and allegedly accelerating toward a police officer, who was hit and injured.
Police will allege that on Wednesday the boy and his pillion passenger were seen on Remembrance Ave, Warwick Farm, just before 5pm riding with the vehicle’s plates covered.
Officers attempted to intercept the pair, who left the scene and were seen soon after at Warwick Farm railway station.
Police said the passenger got off and the 17-year-old rode the motorbike onto the train platform.
It will be alleged in court the rider then accelerated towards police and hit an officer – when apprehended and searched it was found he was in possession of a knife.
The boy was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with eight offences, including: Assault police officer; custody of a knife in a public place; driving while suspended; reckless driving and using an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear in a children’s court on Thursday, November 14 2024.
