Hours after blowing off fans at his $200-per-ticket basketball camp Ben Simmons has posed for photos with controversial western Sydney rap group, OneFour.
Simmons, who recently became Australia’s richest athlete when he signed a $243 million deal with the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, was in Australia for a series of basketball camps in Melbourne and Sydney.
The events, called the Ben Simmons Basketball Camp, cost $200 and left fans unable to afford the high-priced ticket disappointed their hero would not speak to them outside the venue.

Last night, Mt Druitt-based rap group OneFour, who share the same name as a gang in western Sydney, posted a photo with the basketballer on Instagram.
“SYDNEY to PHILLY linkup,” they wrote.
Simmons stood with his hands in his pockets, wearing a black hoodie and cap.
His security Michael Fonoti was also pictured in the photo holding a OneFour jumper.
It comes after the controversial drill rappers announced they had been barred from performing with French-British rapper Octavian earlier this month.

“This is the third time the NSW Police have pressured the venue we were due to perform at and it’s getting fkn frustrating. They want us to get off the street, yet they won’t give us a chance to,” they wrote.
However, a spokeswoman for NSW Police said was they were not responsible for the cancellation.
“The decision to hold an event is held by the promoter of venue,” she said.

OneFour is seen as the biggest drill group in Australia with one of their tracks, Shanks and Shivs, attracting more than 1.1 million views on Youtube.

They have been praised by world-renown British artist Skepta and up-and-coming UK rapper Dave for their work.

Earlier on Sunday, Simmons snuck past waiting fans at his basketball camp.
The 23-year-old did not stop for photos or to speak to any of the teenagers waiting for a glimpse of their hero at the Hills Basketball Stadium.
