FOUR years ago the woman dubbed "Evil Van Krevel" was released from prison after serving six years for plotting to murder her father.
Yesterday, 30-year-old Belinda Van Krevel was told she'd spend at least two months behind bars again, this time for stealing a woman's purse and punching her in the face.
Van Krevel was convicted in 2001 after pleading guilty to soliciting her then-boyfriend Keith Schreiber to brutally murder her father Jack while she and her two-year-old child were in the next room.
She admitted in the Supreme Court to being the mastermind of the killing and confessed to putting the knife, tomahawk and fire poker in the room for Schreiber to use.
Schreiber was jailed for a minimum 12 years and Van Krevel for six. She was released in May 2007.
Other than two court appearances since then to lodge apprehended violence applications, Van Krevel had kept relatively quiet.
But that didn't last and she was arrested and charged last Friday with assault and stealing from a person following an altercation with a woman in a western Sydney street.
Police allege Van Krevel was having a verbal argument with her housemate on George St, Parramatta, about 10.55am when she began swearing at a passing woman.
After calling her a "f ... ing bitch" and a "slut", Van Krevel then ran at Rita Wehbe, swinging punches at her head, police allege.
Documents tendered to Parramatta Local Court claimed Van Krevel stole Ms Wehbe's purse but it was taken back by a witness before she and her housemate left.
Yesterday, Van Krevel pleaded not guilty to both charges by video link from Silverwater women's jail.
Magistrate Tony Marsden refused her bail and Van Krevel will return to court in October.
