Barber Mohamed Naji charged with dealing cocaine on the streets of North Sydney

Police have charged a trendy Sydney barber they say trimmed hair in his shop but sold cocaine on the street outside the business.

A trendy Sydney barber has been charged with running a cocaine supply service on the busy streets around his business.

Mohamed Naji cut hair at The Groomsmen barbers inside a shopping centre on Miller St in North Sydney but came to the attention of police for allegedly supplying cocaine on the street outside the business.

The 26-year-old owns The Groomsmen, where visitors can get a hot towel shave for $25, beard trim for $20 and a nose wax for $5.

He is accused of supplying more than 50g of cocaine between July and August.

The State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad arrested Naji, from Ramsgate Beach south of Sydney, at the shop at 8.30am on August 22.

He appeared briefly before magistrate Michelle Goodwin at Manly Local Court today to face six charges including supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis.

Documents revealed the details of the alleged cocaine deals and stated 26-year-old made several transactions over the space of a month to multiple people.

On July 19 it is alleged he supplied 14.08 grams of cocaine, on July 30 it is alleged he supplied 14.48 grams, on August 2 it is alleged he supplied 13.35 grams, on August 16 it is alleged he supplied 13.86 grams and finally on August 22 8.8 grams.

Naji and his solicitor Michael Korn were met with a crowd of media outside Manly Court and but neither made any comments and walked in silence to their vehicle.

Naji is on strict bail conditions which include that he be of good behaviour and remain living with his parents at Ramsgate Beach.

He is due to return to court in eight weeks on November 7.
