Teen boy 15, accused of breaking into service stations at Evans Head, Broadwater on North Coast

A teenager has been charged with brazenly breaking into two service stations in neighbouring northern NSW towns. Here’s the latest.

A teenage boy has been charged with breaking into two service stations in neighbouring Ballina Shire towns in the northern NSW.

Police state a service station on Baraang Dr at Broadwater was ransacked about 3.35am on February 20.

“Police will allege that a glass door was smashed before the property was ransacked and items were stolen from the premises,” a statement read.

Not long after, a service station on Woodburn St at Evans Head was also ransacked for various items.

“Both businesses were closed at the time and no injuries were reported as a result of the incidents,” according to police.

Richmond Police District officers were told about the break-ins and launched an investigation.

Police allege a 15-year-old boy is responsible for both break-ins.

He was arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station on Monday.

The boy has been charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company to steal (less than $60,000) and one count of being carried in a vehicle taken without consent.

He was granted bail with strict conditions to face NSW Children’s Court on April 5.
