A man has died in hospital after he was found with unexplained critical injuries near Ballina in northern NSW.
Officers from Richmond Police District continue to investigate after the 43-year-old was found on Eltham Road, Teven with an array of injuries about 9.30pm on August 19.
Teven is a village located about 16 kilometres northwest of Ballina.
The man was flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
However, police have now been told “the man died in hospital” about 3.30pm on Wednesday.
Detectives are examining “the circumstances surrounding how the man came to be injured”.
“Police have been told the man was with a 25-year-old woman at an Eltham hotel about 4pm that day. That woman is assisting police with inquiries,” a NSW Police statement read.
