A man has been charged after police raided a home and seized a weapon following an investigation into two alleged public shootings on the state’s north coast.

Police have raided a home and charged a man after two alleged shootings in public places on the NSW’s north coast.
A shot was fired in River Street, West Ballina, about 6.30am on August 15 and two days later police were called to Kerr St, Ballina, at 4.55pm following reports of another gunshot.
Police will allege in court that two men were arguing when one of the men produced a firearm and shot it, before both men fled the scene.
No reports of injuries have been made to police.
Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Westland Dr, West Ballina, on August 17 and officers found a firearm which was seized to undergo forensic examination.
Then on Friday, a 32-year-old man was arrested at a property on Kalinga St, West Ballina.
He was taken to Ballina Police Station where he was charged with three counts of possessing a shortened firearm without authority, two counts of firing a firearm in or near a public place, and stalk or intimidate intending to cause fear of physical harm (domestic).
He was refused bail to appear before Lismore Local Court on Saturday.
