YOUR SAY: While some local people may be congratulating John McVeigh on his elevation to the ministry. I still cant understand why he voted in favour of the same-sex marriage bill.
He voted against the clearly expressed wishes of the majority of Groom electors.
If he felt that the SSM postal vote in Groom was a 50/50 result the most logical thing he could have done was abstain as another 14 MPs did. Eight senators also abstained in their chambers earlier vote on the same bill.
I hope John takes account of his electors wishes in his ministry rose in the future.
