Wardell: Aaron John Mannell charged with police pursuit

A man has been charged over an alleged police pursuit on the NSW North Coast.
Officers from the Tweed/Byron Police District were alerted by Queensland Police to an SUV, allegedly driving dangerously, which entered Tweed Heads heading south on the M1 about 2.10pm on Tuesday.
NSW Police tried to pull the SUV over on the M1 as it travelled past Cudgera Creek but the driver allegedly refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated.
Road spikes were used, causing the car stop near Wardell, before the driver was
arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station.
Aaron John Mannell, 31, faced Lismore Local Court on Wednesday after being charged with police pursuit, learner not accompanied by driver, speeding, driving vehicle under the influence of drugs and failing to submit a breath test and breath analysis.
He was refused bail with his case adjourned to January 20.
