VICTORIA’S most wanted fugitive, Graham Gene Potter, has reportedly been sighted in regional NSW.

The cold-blooded killer vanished seven years ago while on bail for conspiracy to murder charges.

An Honoured Society boss and crime figures from Italy had allegedly engaged him to carry out two gangland killings linked to a failed drug importation.

The suspected hitman, 59, is believed to have been sighted several times over the years, most recently in Riverina area in NSW.

Graham Gene Potter has been on the run since failing to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in 2010.

Police said witnesses in that area claimed to have seen the fugitive at a local shop and gym in July last year.

Potter has connections in Riverina area and there have been several unconfirmed sightings of him in the Griffith and Yenda areas in the past.

Detective Superintendent Peter De Santo urged anyone who may come into contact with Potter not to approach him and to contact police immediately.

“Any piece of information from the public, no matter how small or trivial it might seem, could prove vital,” Supt de Santo said.

“We know that Potter is capable of living rough and camping out, so there’s a chance he could be staying in caravan parks or camping in remote areas.

“He might also be picking up work at farms or as a labourer.”

In 1981, Potter was jailed for life for the murder of teenager Kim Barry at Wollongong.

Despite a number of sightings in Queensland and several nationwide public appeals, Potter has managed to evade police capture.

He is known for an ability to blend into small towns, change his appearance and take on aliases including Josh Lawson, John Page, Jim Henderson and Peter Adams.

Potter is described as caucasian, 175cm tall, medium to solid build, fair complexion, brown eyes, brown greying hair and a ginger beard.

He is known to wear a gold sleeper earring in both ears, wears glasses and regularly wears a gold chain around his neck.

A $100,000 reward was announced in February 2011 for information leading to Potter’s capture.
