Swifties are bracing for impact as the world’s biggest pop star prepares to drop her documentary series about the global tour that shaped history.
After 149 shows in 51 cities across five continents, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour made more than a billion dollars and was the highest-grossing concert tour of all time.
The extraordinary stadium spectacular canvassed all of Swift’s records dating from her debut until now.
Fans had already been treated to a 2023 concert film depicting the Eras Tour’s Los Angeles stops, but this weekend a tour documentary series will take audiences deeper, with a behind the scenes look at Swift’s life on the road.
The docuseries, titled The End of an Era, will also include the final Eras Tour performance in Vancouver, which includes The Tortured Poets Department era, added when the record dropped mid-tour.
“Oh my God, this is the biggest challenge any of us have ever done,” Swift says over a montage of her shedding tears in the docuseries’ latest trailer.
The Eras Tour stopped in Australia for seven shows, including four in Sydney and three in Melbourne.
Swift’s now-fiance, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, attended one of the Sydney shows during a 48-hour flying visit that also included a date at Sydney Zoo.
The trailers have teased a behind-the-scenes look at the couple’s relationship, which eventuated after Kelce attended Swift’s tour stop at his home-ground Arrowhead Stadium, and then admitted he had wanted to give her his number on his podcast New Heights.
Sydney’s Glitter Gel Pen Book Club is hosting a watch party at Buddy’s Bar in Newtown on December 17.
Co-founder Brittany Ferdinands, 32, said she was hoping logistic questions would be answered.
“What did she eat for dinner, how did she have stamina for a three hour show, toilet breaks,”
Ms Ferdinands said.
Book club member Charlotte Wakefield, 28, also said she was excited to relive the experience and see the show from Swift’s point of view.
“Seeing it from our point of view and then getting that behind the scenes aspect will be a big deal,” Ms Wakefield said.
Swift was snapped in New York entering The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday, where she is rumoured to be giving an hour-long interview ahead of the docuseries’ release.
