Andrew Constance will quit NSW politics to run for the federal seat of Gilmore at the next election.

The Transport Minister had been mooted by some as a potential leadership contender following Gladys Berejiklian’s resignation.

But he had also long been rumoured to be interested in the federal electorate of Gilmore on the South Coast.

Mr Constance last year announced he would contest Liberal preselection to run in the Eden-Monaro by-election but pulled out of the race less than 24 hours after declaring his candidacy.
