An accused drug kingpin and personal trainer has faced court after strike force detectives seized more than $100,000 in cash, cocaine and 53kg of GBL - commonly used by bodybuilders to improve performance.
Zane Beach, 28, appeared in Bankstown Local Court facing a raft of charges related to drug dealing.
Strike Force Raptor, which targets illicit activities of criminal networks, arrested Beach at his Greenacre home at 7am on Wednesday.
During a raid of the house, police seized more than $110,000 cash, more than 470g of cocaine, more than 53kg of liquid gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), eight mobile phones, an expandable baton, prescription medication and documents.
GBL is often used to improve athletic performance, sleep, and sexual performance and pleasure.
Beach has been charged with three counts of supplying prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), dealing with property proceeds of crime and possessing or using a prohibited weapon without permit.
Police will allege he was involved in the supply of more than 528g of MDMA on March 6 between 1-1.30pm in Homebush and that the huge amount of cash found at his Greenacre home was from the proceeds of crime.
His bail was formally refused and is due to have the matter heard again on April 4. Mr Beach, who has not entered a plea, nodded to his supporters before he was led away by police.
Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 to prevent and disrupt conflicts, and dismantle any network engaged in serious organised criminal activity.
