Alan Joyce has been pictured back in Sydney five months after his abrupt departure from Qantas.
Mr Joyce was spotted by a listener to 2GB on Monday afternoon wearing a baseball cap, navy T-shirt, blue shorts and a pair of black sneakers.
The 57-year-old appeared relaxed as he sat on a park bench scrolling through his phone alongside his dog.
Mr Joyce left Sydney last year after getting a $21.4 million payday for his final year at the airline.
It followed a tumultuous year for the fallen CEO with delayed and short changed customers, 1700 illegally sacked workers and angry shareholders all wanting him to front a senate aviation inquiry but Mr Joyce was nowhere to be seen.
Qantas was also accused of lobbying the government to block Qatar Airways’ bid to add an extra 28 flights each week into Australia.
My Joyce was later pictured in Dublin where he spent some time at his elderly mother’s home.
He also later resigned as chair of the Sydney Theatre Company just a month after the company was engulfed in controversy sparked by actors wearing Palestinian scarves.
He joined the company’s Board of Directors in 2022 and was elected chair in March last year.
Mr Joyce’s departure followed outrage against the company in November last year, after several actors wore traditional Palestinian keffiyehs on the opening night of The Seagull.
