THE mother of builder Ahmad Tebya broke down in tears as she learned her son was arrested during the series of raids that foiled an alleged IS-inspired plot to attack Sydney, vowing to “kick his ass” if he has links with terrorists­.

Tebya, charged with obtaining a financial benefit by deception, has not been charged with any terrorism-related offences.

The 30-year-old’s mother insisted her son had “zero” connection with terror organisations.

I’ll kill him if I ever find out he does, I’ll kick his ass,” she said in Auburn.

Tebya’s brother, who asked not to be named, insisted his younger sibling’s arrest was the result of overzealous policing.

Tebya, charged with obtaining a financial benefit by deception, has not been charged with any terrorism-related charges.

Tebya has been granted bail to appear at court on July 30.
