A revealing look at our sex lives (at work)

FORGET the Christmas party shenanigans — more of us are getting it on with colleagues and are even having sex at work.

FORGET the Christmas party shenanigans — more of us are getting it on with colleagues and are even having sex at work.

A national sex survey by body+soul has found more than 40 per cent of respondents have slept with a workmate, and almost a quarter admit to having sex at work.

But it seems more of us are wanting a bit more action between the sheets, with 44 per cent of NSW residents wanting a more adventurous sex life, compared with 38 per cent who are happy with their bedroom activities.

Two thirds of respondents were in a long-term relationship, so the answer reflected the challenges of keeping a satisfying sex life while dealing with kids, jobs and bills, sex expert Matty Silver said.

“Sex is not spontaneous, you have to work at it, you have to make it fun, you have to look forward to it, and even plan it,” she said.

“Unless you do that, if you are together for 40 years, sex gets boring.”

“Kids kill your sex life”

Married couple Steve and Tina Howlett, both 44, agreed.

“Kids kill your sex life,” Mrs Howlett told The Sunday Telegraph.

“As a married couple, it would be nice to have more time to spend with each other.”

Some 53 per cent of us have used sex toys, but, as part of our quest for more adventurous sex, Ms Silver would like that number to be higher.

“[53 per cent] is not a lot,” she said.

“Toys are helpful — you should make your sex life varied, sex toys sometimes, a bit of fantasy, stuff like that.”

Some of us, however, are already adventurous. A third have slept with more than 10 people, and almost two thirds have had a one-night stand.

We watch more online porn than the national average, and we’re more likely to have cheated on our partner, and to have done it regularly.

We are more comfortable than the rest of the country with paying for sex, and fifty per cent of men in NSW are satisfied, or indeed very satisfied, with the size of their penis.
