A $1 million reward has been offered for information on a man missing and presumed dead after claiming to have been cursed by witches.
Police have renewed an appeal for information on William “Bill” Roach, who went missing in 1993.
A 2010 coronial inquiry found it was likely Mr Roach had died but did not explain the cause of death. His body has never been found.
Mr Roach, then 25, was last seen on Barney St, Armidale on December 31.
Police searched areas around Armidale in recent years, and in 2004 Strike Force Annan was established to examine the circumstances of his disappearance.
His suspected murder has become the subject of an NSW Police-run podcast, with the first episode focusing on information that he was killed on a remote farm before his body was allegedly hidden in a deep waterhole.
The second episode explained Mr Roach had attended a counterculture festival before his disappearance where he claimed to be cursed by witches, and may have been involved in the drug trade.
Police Minister David Elliot will announce the $1 million reward officially on Tuesday morning.
