TWO men allegedly broke into Casuarina Square shopping centre overnight after forcing open fire doors around midnight.

The men, aged 23 and 25, then went into the Coffee Club premises and stole food items, police say.

Acting senior sergeant Wayne O’Neil said the men were soon tracked down by CCTV footage.

“One of the gentleman was located in the grounds of the childcare centre by police dog, Wedge, and he’s then jumped onto the roof.

“He’s then jumped off the roof on the other side, the dog’s run around the other side and we’ve apprehended him,” A/Sen Sgt O’Neill said.

The second man was also soon found nearby.

“Once confronted by the dog coming towards him, he gave up,” he said.

Both men have been arrested and are in custody.
