As Australia and South Africa go head to head in the WTC final, tickets for their T20 meetings in the Top End, the first international games in Darwin for 17 years, have gone on sale.

Public general tickets for the matches on August 10 and 12 are officially on sale with the two matches capping off a big year for the sport in the Northern Territory.

The first-ever Men’s T20 Internationals to be played in the Northern Territory will open a blockbuster Australian summer.

Cricket Australia’s recently announced 2025-26 International Schedule highlights cricket being played in 11 cities and 14 venues across every state and territory.

The two sides are currently going head to head in the World Test Championship and these T20s will be their first meeting post series.

The Darwin matches also form part of a Northern Australia Series that extends to Cairns and Mackay.

Cricket NT chief executive Gavin Dovey said early sales proved there was a huge appetite for the sport in the Top End.

“It is clear from record early sales across the country that this summer is going to be one of the most anticipated in Australian cricket history, and we’re delighted it starts right here in Darwin,” he said.

“Tickets for the T20Is on 10 and 12 August are incredibly affordable with adults just $20. Now we are on sale to the public we encourage all Territorians to snap up tickets quickly to avoid missing out.”

“To once again host international men’s cricket, especially against a formidable opponent like South Africa, provides an opportunity to attract visitors to experience the Top End,” she said.

“These matches will not only deliver thrilling entertainment for fans, but also inspire our next generation of local cricketers and showcase our vibrant city to a global audience, inviting more people to explore everything the Top End has to offer.”
