The most talented young female footballers from across the NT have been selected to take part in the 2025 NT Talent Academy.
A group of standout performers who have played their part whether in the NT Emerging Talent Program, Michael Long Cup or local competitions have been selected.
Among them are some familiar family names such as Lailanie Rioli from St Mary’s or one of the Territory’s best rising stars in Peggy Rock.
The intial group of 50 represents the whole of the Territory with players assessed from the Top End and Tiwi Islands to the Big Rivers, Barkly and Central Australia regions.
This group is comprised of those seen as potential representatives for the Northern Territory at the upcoming 2025 Development and National Championships.
Cazalys NT talent manager Shannon Millar said the depth of talent across the NT was perhaps the best she had ever seen.
“This has been a remarkable offseason, highlighted by the launch of the inaugural Emerging Talent program and the revitalization of the Michael Long Cup,” she said.
“The depth of talent we’ve seen this year is extraordinary, and the skill, determination, and passion of the players is among the best we’ve ever seen.
“We’re excited to see how these young athletes will continue to develop as they take the next step toward representing the Northern Territory at the national level.”
The 50 players selected represent the next generation of NT Talent, and the Academy will provide them with the training and support needed to compete at the highest level.
The 2025 NT Talent Academy fixture is set to be released in early 2025.
