Nexus Airlines offers free flights for kids between Northern Territory and Western Australia

An Australian airline has partnered with the Territory government to provide free flights for one group of Australians over the holiday period.

The Western Australia-based Nexus Airlines is offering free flights for children across the Wet Season, between the Top End and WA locations such as Broome, Kununurra, Karratha and Port Hedland.

The Kids Fly Free promotion is available on all routes across WA and the NT and is valid for both one way and return flight bookings between December 15 and April 14.

A child must be aged between two and 12 and be travelling with a paying adult.

The sale will be supported by family friendly accommodation and experience packages bookable through Tourism NT, and will allow families to fly affordably across two holidays.

Nexus Airlines will fly to Darwin in July 2023

Tourism and Hospitality minister Joel Bowden said it was another goal kicked in securing more flight options for Territorians, off the back of recent Bonza and Airnorth announcements.

“This announcement gives Territory families access to more affordable travel options connecting regional Australia and remote centres across WA and the NT,” Mr Bowden said.

“It also brings visitors to Darwin and the Top End who will spend on accommodation, transport, dining, attractions and tours, driving economic activity and creating job opportunities.”

Nexus Airlines managing director Michael McConachy said he was pleased to be providing affordable airfares between Darwin and the Kimberley.

“This campaign further builds on that by making travel for families even more affordable than ever before,” he said.

“By allowing kids to fly for free over summer and into the Easter school holidays Nexus Airlines hopes to connect you and your family to your next NT holiday.

“We are excited to see families from the Pilbara and the Kimberley travel with us up into the NT and are very grateful for the support from the Northern Territory government on this initiative.”
