Inquest into death of Rasheed Ladouce,17, to be held in Alice Springs Local Court in July

A grieving father hopes a five day inquest will provide some answers as to why his talented young son’s life was cut short in Alice Springs.

Five days have been set aside to help find anwers for a grieving family about how their college captain son died in Alice Springs.

Rasheed Ladouce was 17 years old when he died in November 2023.

He was a college captain at St Philip’s College, and in the wake of his death, a GoFundMe raised $33,330 for his family.

The money was used to repatriate Rasheed’s body from the Northern Territory town back to Seychelles in East Africa.

Rasheed died about four months after his 17th birthday.

When contacted ahead of a coronial inquest, Rasheed’s father Joseph Ladouce asked for privacy.

He said he wanted the inquest to provide some answers as to what happened to his son.

An inquest into Rasheed’s death will be held in the Alice Springs Local Court.

It is scheduled to begin on July 28, and is expected to run for five days.

It will be presided over by Coroner Chrissy McConnel and will examine issues around mental health.
