BELOVED US doughnut chain Krispy Kreme has submitted a development application to build its first ever outlet in the Territory.
The application, obtained by the NT News, proposes building a Krispy Kreme drive-through within the Gateway Shopping Centre in Palmerston.

The site plan shows that the drive-through would be attached to a new BP service station and car wash on the corner of Roystonea Ave and Gateway Road in Yarrawonga.
“The Krispy Kreme facility is integrated with and located within the same building, and includes a production area, retail area and drive-through service lane and window,” the planning report states.
The space would also include 35 car parks, and a drive through lane with space for 10 vehicles.
The application will need to receive Development Consent Authority (DCA) approval before proceeding to building.
The NT News first reported in 2018 that Krispy Kreme were looking for a location to open their first Territory store.

“We have to find the right location to support manufacturing and retail. We are genuinely excited at the prospect of coming to Darwin,” a Krispy Kreme spokesman told the NT News at the time.
Territorians have long been known to stock up on the delicious doughnuts during interstate trips.
