Nightcliff’s Brodie Filo and PINT’s Jasmyn Hewett have solidified their places in NTFL history by becoming the first players in their divisions to win the best and fairest for a third time.

The Tigers skipper Filo won his third Nichols medal after another exceptional season in which he averaged 28.8 disposals and 5.2 clearances a game, while scoring 10 goals.

The 34-year-old won his first medal in the 2015-16 season and tied with Beau O’Connell of Wanderers in the 2019-20 season.

But another five years later he’s shown no signs of slowing down as he helped his side soar to second place, and though they were knocked out in the prelim it has been a huge year for the side.

He becomes the only men’s player in NTFL history to have claimed three of the league’s highest honours with four three-vote showings to finish with 21 votes.

Hewett joined in on the slice of history at the Mindil Beach Casino Resort winning her third Women’s Best and Fairest in just five seasons.

The AFLW premiership winning player with the Crows took on a joint coach / player role in the 2024-25 season and guided her side to another minor premiership with just one loss.

The Queenants won’t be in the grand final next week but Hewett has been an integral part of her side’s success and was recently appointed the NTFL women’s representative coach.

The ruck managed 11 goals throughout the season and recorded 31 votes, including eight three-vote performances.

Nightcliff also took home the NT News men’s Rising Star Award through Sean Hunter, who made a swift impact on the competition averaging 13.2 disposals, 2.1 tackles, and 7 goals.
