AANT chief executive Anthony Hill stepping down from role

A peak motoring authority in the NT is stepping down after five years in the job.

AFTER five years, Automobile Association of the Northern Territory (AANT) chief executive Anthony Hill is calling it a day.

Mr Hill was appointed to the role in October 2017 and will finish his tenure in September.

He said highlights of the role were boosting AANT’s advocacy work, raising public awareness of fuel pricing and road infrastructure and increased efforts in driver safety and education.

Mr Hill planned to return to South Australia to pursue a personal venture.

“I’ve really enjoyed my five years at AANT but the time is right for change, and fresh eyes on an organisation is always positive,” he said.

“AANT is a multifaceted business … as a member-based organisation you have to ask your members to renew their membership each year, which is the best feedback an organisation can receive.”

AANT president Trevor Cox thanked Mr Hill for his service.

“Anthony’s input and implementing of the AANT Strategic Business Plan saw the successful growth in membership and insurance sales, ultimately improving AANT’s financial position,” Mr Cox said.

“We wish Anthony and his family all the best with his new venture.”

AANT will begin advertising for a new chief executive this week.
