TWO sisters have opened one of Darwin’s few vegan eateries in a mission to show locals that plant-based food is much more than kale and tofu.
Ebb and Flow restaurant and bar, run by Di and Liz Goitia, opened this month in a prime location on the Cullen Bay waterfront.

The venue will be serving lunch and dinner on weekdays, and breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night dessert on weekends — and its owners are quick to point out the all-vegan menu is not all chickpeas and almond milk, with some of its more surprising offerings including “tofish and chips” (tofu fish and chips) and fresh pastries.
Liz Goitia said the pair hoped the business would change the perception of plant-based foods in Darwin.
“A lot of people think of the plant-based diet as all you can eat is salad.

“They have no idea about all the amazing herbs and spices you can use or the creative ways you can create foods,” she said.
“And if you still don’t want to try plant-based food, we’ve got an amazing view and venue and have beers, cocktails and desserts.”
