The body of an elderly woman has been found inside a septic tank in Brisbane’s south, just two hours after she was reported missing.

The body of an elderly woman has been found inside a septic tank in Brisbane’s south, shortly after she was reported missing.

Emergency services were called to a property on Brookbent Rd, Pallara at about 4pm on Sunday.

The 88-year-old woman’s body was discovered shortly after being reported missing by her son at 2pm, The Courier Mail reports.

According to the publication, it is believed the woman’s husband was at home when she was reported missing, with the woman’s body later found inside the septic tank by police.

Queensland Police said investigations have indicated the woman’s death is not suspicious and an autopsy will be performed today.

Investigations into the situation are continuing.
